The Problem...

Parents, educators, and employers want to prevent children, students, and employees from viewing objectionable content on the internet. Until now, the only solutions available attempt to block websites based on contextual word analysis (keywords), flesh tone analysis, or maintain a list of offending websites.  These techniques do not work because:
  • Keyword and flesh tone analysis often return false positives and thus over-block.

  • Maintaining and a comprehensive and accurate list of categorized web sites is a difficult task due to the dynamic nature of the Internet and therefore it is not possible to block all objectionable content.

  • Much of the commercially available content monitoring and filtering technology is software-based and is installed on each and every monitored device. A single solution may not work for PCs, Macs, iPads, and other devices.  In addition, it can be bypassed by users with relative ease in many circumstances.

  • Objectionable content is very subjective, but you know it when you see it.

Watching Box is the Solution

WatchingBox is a device that simply captures every image on every website visited by any computer, iPad, or other device on the network –transparently!  It provides parents, educators, and employers with a collage of captured images (similar to a Google Image search), allowing them to very quickly identify objectionable content. WatchingBox is a device and not software-based and thus it cannot be easily bypassed. In fact, if it is ever unplugged or disconnected from the internet it will display a notification.
